DENVER (August 19, 2021)–For the second year in a row, the annual U.S. News – Best Lawyers® has recognized Fortis Law Partners co-founders Julie Herzog and Christine Lamb as Best Lawyers® in their respective areas of expertise. Additionally, Senior Counsel Paige Justus and Associate Lenora Plimpton were named U.S. News – Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch®. Recognition by Best Lawyers is based exclusively on peer reviews gathered from leading lawyers within the same geographical area and legal practice area about the professional abilities of their colleagues.
Fortis co-founder and partner Julie Herzog heads up Fortis’ corporate/securities practice and was honored by Best Lawyers for her work in Corporate Law. Herzog has accrued many accolades over the years and was most recently named a winner of the Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business award. She has been named a Super Lawyer for seven consecutive years for her expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and consistently ranks in the Top 50 Women for Colorado Super Lawyers.
“It’s always an honor to have my peers recognize my work,” Herzog said. “I truly love helping my clients set up new companies and navigate mergers and acquisitions. It’s always a satisfying experience to guide them through these processes, and we’ve been successful at adapting and finding solutions to recent pandemic-related economic and business obstacles,” she continued.
U.S. News – Best Lawyers® also recognized Fortis co-founder and partner Christine Lamb for her work in employment law – management and workers’ compensation law – employers. Lamb heads up Fortis’ employment law practice group. She has been named a Colorado Super Lawyer for seven years running and has been AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell since 2002, the highest rating available. She frequently represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US Department of Labor, the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment and other government entities.
“The events of the past year and a half have created new challenges for employers,” Lamb said. “The landscape around employment law has changed tremendously, along with a heightened focus on pay equity and diversity. It’s really gratifying to help my clients find effective solutions to complicated situations,” Lamb stated.
The U.S. News “Ones to Watch” designation spotlights up-and-coming attorneys who have been in private practice for less than 10 years, and who, based on peer reviews, are practicing at an exceptionally high level of professionalism and competence. Justus’ work in corporate law and trusts and estates was acknowledged, while Plimpton earned recognition for commercial litigation.
