Roxane Peyser named Partner at Fortis Law Partners, adding entrepreneurial and legal breadth to burgeoning law firm

Seasoned attorney and business owner adds strong expertise to Denver firm’s

corporate, M&A and cannabis law practice areas

DENVER (July 26, 2022)—Leading Denver-based law firm Fortis Law Partners has added highly-experienced business owner and attorney Roxane Peyser as a partner in the firm’s growing practice. Peyser is a business and commercial transactions lawyer with 35 years of experience advising corporate clients at law firms and working as in-house counsel in the banking and environmental sectors. She most recently served as Chief Legal Counsel for a multistate cannabis operator after spending nearly a decade running her own law firm. Peyser is also an entrepreneur who has started and sold several businesses, including an environmental services company and a sustainability consulting firm.

Peyser brings strong expertise in corporate, cannabis and employment law, as well as in mergers and acquisitions, securities and financing. She has worked on more than $20 billion of M&A transactions and helped numerous clients identify growth opportunities and raise capital.

Peyser is particularly well-versed in the import and export of hemp products or hemp-derived cannabinoids. Utilizing her considerable knowledge of U.S. Customs protocols, she can offer Fortis clients valuable advice and practical counsel about the exportation and importation process for various hemp or hemp-derived products. Peyser’s capabilities expand Fortis’s already considerable depth of experience in the cannabis space, which includes a new hemp and CBD risk assessment subscription service.

“Roxane has earned a reputation for excellence in the local legal community,” said Julie Herzog, Managing Partner, Fortis Law Partners. “We are delighted to have her join the Fortis team, and her knowledge around hemp product imports and exports will provide a unique and exclusive benefit to Fortis clients.”

Peyser is savvy in managing complex legal issues and guiding clients through strategic legal decisions that will add both short- and long-term value. She has experience helping companies structure, restructure and expand their businesses, mitigate risks, and maintain regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Peyser has also handled complex employment litigation and overseen the legal aspects of HR operations. She is adept at helping clients balance their business interests with potential risks and maintain compliance with rapidly evolving employment laws and regulations.

“I look forward to serving Fortis clients and sharing the insights and point of view I bring from my experiences both as a legal advisor and as a business owner who has started and sold several of my own businesses,” said Peyser. “Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than helping my clients achieve success.”
