Successful Client Results
Congratulations to Pikes Peak Athletics Training Center, LLC for breaking ground on a world-class aquatic training facility in Colorado Springs. Fortis ensured this venture was protected by legal safeguards by advising on the land purchase, raising private capital from investors, drafting tenant lease agreements and negotiating and closing bank debt financing which included an SBA loan.
Our firm’s tenacity was crucial to selling an insurance brokerage company’s six-figure book of business to a strategic buyer. Our client was granted favorable tax terms and industry-specific provisions including an earn-out, non-compete, and on-going independent contractor agreement.
Fortis represented a Spanish venture capital firm for a $1 million Series A investment in a California technology start-up and assisted with the negotiation and implementation of certain financing and commercial agreements to both protect our client and help the start-up prosper.
Collaborative work from our litigation attorneys won a motion to dismiss on behalf of an Adams County landowner who was sued regarding sub tenancy rights in a lease agreement. Resolving four of five claims in favor of our client, the dismissal was based on several legal theories involving the lease language and ability to sublease to a potential marijuana business subtenant.
Fortis represented an executive officer in a multi-million dollar leveraged buyout of a telecom and technology solutions company through a tax efficient two-step stock acquisition and merger deal structure.
